Here are the latest 2018 California Primary results, statewide and for Bay Area counties. Elections officials begin releasing results shortly after 8 p.m. and update them throughout the evening. The data is not official and it will take days to complete counting votes by mail and for write-in candidates. County officials have 28 days after the June 5 election to certify their results.
Santa Clara County results: These include the vote on whether Judge Aaron Persky should be recalled and, if he is, who should replace him. Other races include Santa Clara County sheriff, San Jose Mayor and San Jose City Council Districts 5, 7 and 9, along with RM3, the regional measure that would increase bridge tolls, and local measures, including San Jose measures B and C and redistricting measure A in Santa Clara.
Contra Costa County results: These include races for auditor/controller, district attorney, superintendent of schools and county Board of Supervisors District 4 along with RM3, the regional measure to increase bridge tolls, and open space measures in Martinez, the Richmond kids initiative and revisions and other local measures.
San Mateo County results: These include races for county sheriff, the county Board of Supervisors, superintendent of schools and assessor, along with RM3, the regional measure to increase bridge tolls, and school district and city measures.
Alameda County results: These include Alameda County primary contests for assessor, auditor/controller, Board of Education, district attorney and Superior Court judge, along with RM3, the regional measure to increase bridge tolls, an Alameda County child care tax, Oakland library tax and San Lorenzo school bond.
San Francisco results: This will open a new browser tab and take you to San Francisco’s election site for the latest results, which include races for mayor along with RM3, the regional measure to increase bridge tolls, and local measures.
Statewide results: This will open a new browser tab and take you to the California Secretary of State’s election site for the latest statewide results for primary contests for California governor, lieutenant governor and other state offices, U.S. Senate and U.S. House, state Senate and Assembly races and state ballot measures.
