Over 400 seniors from the Class of 2018 graduated during Alameda High School’s commencement ceremony at Thompson Field in Alameda on Thursday afternoon. A large crowd of family and friends were on hand for the event, as a bevy of smartphones rolled video. Valedictorian Raymond Yao, Salutatorian Jeffrey Jeung, Student Body President Mulan McNabb and Class President Megan Pajarito spoke during the event.
Alameda High School teacher Cynthia Roenisch gave the inspirational speech, and Alameda Unified School District Superintendent Sean McPhetridge and Principal Robert Ithurburn also spoke. This year’s class song was “Rivers & Roads” by The Head & The Heart.
