OAKLAND — An Oakland police officer is in hot water after a photo of him apparently sleeping on the job was posted to social media Friday.
In a statement, the Oakland Police Department said it was aware of the photograph and had identified the officer.
“We have confirmed the officer was not in a medical emergency,” police said. “We expect our officers to be awake and fully focused on their assigned duties. The department is looking further into this incident.”
Additional details, including the location where the photo was taken, were not immediately available.
