FREMONT — The California Highway Patrol has lifted a Sig-alert after a solo collision Tuesday blocked at least two eastbound lanes on the Dumbarton Bridge, threatening a big backup for the afternoon commute.
The collision, which involved a vehicle with a trailer, happened just east of the middle of the span shortly after 3 p.m. in eastbound lanes and blocked the bridge’s two right-hand lanes.
Officers issued the alert at 3:08 p.m. after realizing a heavy rig would be needed to remove the trailer. The alert was updated at 4:28 p.m. to reflect two left-hand lanes opening and lifted in full shortly after 4:40 p.m..
No word on any possible injuries was immediately available.
