BERKELEY — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with an April stabbing just north of downtown.
Joshua Gertz, a 19-year-old Berkeley resident, was detained last Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a 20-year-old man on the 1700 block of McGee Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on the evening of April 3.
Gertz was picked up when he went to the Berkeley Police Station to get a tow release after his car was towed in an unrelated matter, Berkeley police said in a Nixle post this week.
Gertz was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, felony battery, and for violating his probation.
