OAKLAND — A 19-year-old man driving in East Oakland Thursday night  was shot by someone  in another vehicle,  police said Friday. The man was in stable condition Friday.

The shooting happened about 9 p.m. Thursday as the man drove in the 2700 block of Foothill Boulevard.

The gunfire came from another vehicle containing several people, police said.  That vehicle fled before police arrived.

The man was hit at least once and was taken to a hospital.

Police don’t have a motive yet but are investigating whether the shooting had something to do with an earlier confrontation between the victim and the occupants of the other vehicle. No other details were released.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
