DUBLIN — A 26-year old woman who was released from Santa Rita Jail early Saturday morning was found dead hours later at the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station, according to BART officials.

The woman was released from the Dublin-based jail at 1:25 a.m. Saturday and was found unresponsive near the passenger pick-up/drop-off platform at the BART station when officers responded at 5:30 a.m. Paramedics were already at the scene, and she was announced deceased there, according to BART spokeswoman Cheryl Stalter.

The woman had a bump on her head, but no signs of foul play were found, said Stalter. BART officials have reached out to Santa Rita Jail to see if the woman had a bump on her head when she was released and are reviewing surveillance footage to determine what happened.

BART did not release the name of the deceased woman. Authorities will have more information after an autopsy on Monday, according to Stalter.
