California’s drinking watercrisis impacts 6 million
California has a drinking water crisis that impacts 6 million Californians, many of whom live in low-income communities of color.
Not having reliable access to safe water is a financial burden and a daily stress that dramatically impacts people’s quality of life.
To remedy our drinking water crisis, small water districts need a stable money stream to pay for modern water treatment plant improvements.
SB 844 and SB 845 would establish a sustainable funding source for safe and affordable drinking water for all Californians. The California Legislature has until the end of the legislative session on Aug. 31 to pass this legislation, and the need for it is dire.
