Fans have been waiting a long time for Phil Collins to hop over the pond and play some dates on this side of the Atlantic Ocean.
Now, their wish has finally been granted as the multiplatinum pop-rock star has embarked on his first major North American solo tour in 14 years.
And, yes, there’s a Bay Area date.
Collins’ Not Dead Yet Live! trek hits Oracle Arena in Oakland on Oct. 25.
As always, Collins will have no shortage of material to draw from in putting together a set list.
After all, he’s been responsible for scores of big hits and fan favorites during his career.
His biggest solo cuts include such numbers as “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now),” “One More Night,” “Sussudio,” “Two Hearts” and “Another Day in Paradise.”
And don’t forget about “In the Air Tonight,” which is sure to draw an arena full of air drum solos.
Plus, Collins can pick from the work he did with Genesis and include a song like “Invisible Touch.”
In all, it should be a very fun evening for local Phil Collins fans, who have had to wait way too long to see this Rock and Roll Hall of Famer in concert.
(In case you were wondering, Collins’ previous solo outing in the Bay Area was way back in August 2004 at the SAP Center in San Jose. He also played that same venue with Genesis back in October 2007.)
