DUBLIN — Two men suspected of being involved in a fatal shooting in Castro Valley earlier this year have been arrested, according to authorities.
David Harrison Jr., 21, of San Leandro, and Marcus Smith, 22, of Oakland, remained in custody at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on Tuesday, Alameda County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Ray Kelly said.
Harrison is being held on suspicion of being an unlicensed driver and misdemeanor hit-and-run, while Smith is being held on suspicion of violating his parole, according to jail records. Sacramento police arrested Smith in that city, and Harrison was arrested in Fremont, Kelly said.
Both are suspects in the Aug. 9 shooting death of 24-year-old Joseph Gormley, of San Leandro, Kelly said.
The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. Aug. 9 in the 2300 block of John Court as Gormley sat in his car not far from Interstate 580, Kelly said. The shooter then fled in a waiting vehicle.
