HAYWARD —  One man was arrested and another is sought in a stabbing Thursday afternoon at a Jack-In-the Box restaurant in unincorporated Hayward, authorities said.

The man who was stabbed was taken to a hospital, but his condition was not immediately known.

Alameda County sheriff’s Sgt. Ray Kelly said deputies received both 911 calls and a panic alarm about 2:15 p.m. from the restaurant, located in the 18500 block of Mission Boulevard in the Ashland neighborhood.

Two men thought to be the suspects ran from the restaurant, deputies said. What led to the stabbing was not immediately released.

Deputies arrested one of the suspects within minutes in the 800 block of Paradise Boulevard.

Deputies were using canines and a drone to search nearby streets and the shoreline of San Lorenzo Creek for the second suspect.

Check back for updates.
