OK, you all. Must run.Have a good weekend & pray for all those fire victims.Must be a Google Maps glitch re 17. They show it closed right now, no indication that it's nighttime only.-SJ guy
Could be more like OctoberTaking bets on Berryessa BART opening? I'll say June 2020.-SJ guy
Closed night on weekends to repair the support beamsGoogle Maps says 17 south is closed around Lark until November 16th. Huh!?-SJ guy
I'll be here next week even though is the day before thanksgiving. Som years it's been real busy chat;others very light.I have never seen a double u turn and it certainly doesn't sound safe.-Rodney
Beats me, you cannot make a u-turn from the second lane unless it is also marked for a u-turnLast week I was making a left on the left lane of two left turn lanes. The car on the right of me decided to make a u turn instead of going left (it's my understanding if there are two left turn lanes only the car in the far left can make a u-turn) which caused me to slam my brakes. I honked at that person but then that person honked at me and so did the person behind me. What gives?-Rodney
That's good news, thanks. Sure seems like they could finish it much more quickly with proper staffing. It seems like CalTrans doesn't adequately factor the delays that this work costs into their planning. (And no, I've not seen anybody doing that red light thing.)-Mike
Anyone else seen this? I have notI understand you.I'm starting to notice that folks that run red lights honk on their horn as to alerting people they are coming through on the red. what's that about?-Rodney
Staying home for Thanksgiving. Trying to leave San Jose for any holiday, unless you leave a couple days before, you end up wasting hours on gridlocked freeways. Not worth the frustration.-SJ guy
OK, this could be done in AprilSorry, I wasn't referring to the Willow Road interchange, but the other bridge that's a little farther south. I think it's a pedestrian bridge? Many days I drive past that thing and see nobody working on it, or maybe 1-5 people.-Mike
Is it illegal to cross the solid line into the left turning lanes? If "everyone is doing it", is this considered just an unwritten understanding?-Angela
Yes, it's legal if safe to do so. However it's not legal be in a left turning and to cross the solid white lines to go straightIs it illegal to cross the solid line into the left turning lanes? If "everyone is doing it", is this considered just an unwritten understanding?-Angela
Caltrans is constructing a new Willow Road interchange under a $58 million contract which began construction in September 2017. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-2019.
Any insight you can share on the pedestrian overpass over 101 in Palo Alto? It seems that work is proceeding at a glacial pace, and the lane constrictions there are contributing to delays every day.-Mike
No, not dead. But no decision has yet been madeSorry if you have covered this recently, but are the added lanes on 85 between 280 and S San Jose dead because of the various cities' litigation?-josephp
I'll email Caltrans about the metering light, but there are no plans to add a second turning lane onto NB 867The meter lights for the on-ramp from Almaden Expressway N to 87N are really hard to see, particularly in the middle lane, it is really dim. Any chance that can be fixed? Also, speaking of going from Almaden Expressway N to 87N, the leftmost late is turn only. This lane backs up significantly during the commute. Many motorists continue on the 2nd lane from the left and quickly slide in (across the solid line) where the leftmost lane splits into 2. Is there a way of changing the traffic such that it is more "fair" to those of us who do wait for our turn? The wait can be 7-10 minutes long, unless you pull the above maneuver.-Angela
in some places on 280,they have replaced the concrete with asphaltGreat to hear thanks! It is so sad to see the state of repair on 280 in general. Back in the old days it was the most beautifully smooth freeway in the Bay Area!-josephp
They'll be back for more repaires & have a big paving job slated for next yearHi Gary, the expansion joints on 280 south between Page Mill and El Monte are downright dangerous. Caltrans tried a hokey asphalt patch fix that might actually be worse. It is just a matter of time before there is a serious accident here.-josephp
Anyone trying to get out of town for Thanksgiving? What are your plans?Gas prices taking a big drop, but may rise before Christmas, ... Some people may use flex tags to avoid tolls in express lanes ... Toll booths may be removed on area bridges, ,,,,Let's rollHi again.I'll be ready at noon.
