FREMONT — A woman who stabbed a man, then threatened him before he died, took a plea deal that will send her to prison.

Ayah Abdallah, 20, was charged with the murder of Yusef Nawabi, 19, of Fremont in December 2017. The man died after being stabbed in the abdomen following a fight with Abdallah.

Abdallah was sentenced last week to 11 years in state prison after agreeing to plead no contest to voluntary manslaughter in a plea deal, according to the Fremont police.

Moments after stabbing him, Abdallah told her victim that she would kill him next time, according to court documents.

“Remember I stabbed you; next time I will kill you,” Abdallah said, according to court documents.

Police were called to the 41000 block of Fremont Boulevard at 10:03 p.m. on Dec. 17, 2017, following a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Nawabi was found  screaming in pain, and was taken to a nearby trauma center. He later died from his injuries.

Multiple witness told police they believed the fight began as a domestic violence dispute between the two, but escalated when she stabbed him. A witness saw the two get into an argument, and Abdallah push Nawabi as he backed up, court documents state. Although the witness didn’t see the actual stabbing, they heard the victim say he had been stabbed.

Abdallah took off in her silver Mercedes E-Class, but witnesses got a partial license plate and provided police with a detailed description of her. Police eventually pulled her over and found a black knife with a 4 1/4-inch blade, the murder weapon. Nawabi’s blood was also found on the knife, confirmed with a DNA match.

Court documents reveal that she also called a friend just before getting pulled over, and confessed that she had stabbed someone.
