LIVERMORE — A bar and lounge that drew complaints over alleged disorderly operations has had its license to serve alcoholic beverages suspended for 45 days, authorities said.
A statement by the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control said agents posted a notice of suspension Thursday at The Venue, 2293 First Street, after a joint investigation with Livermore police.
According to the department, officers saw “a significant drain on police resources” because of required responses to reports of fights, assaults, public drunkenness and disturbances of the peace from April 2017 to June 2018.
The department also claimed the venue sold alcoholic beverages to minors.
During the bar’s 45-day suspension, it may not serve or sell alcohol. Afterward, the venue’s licensee must serve a three-year probation term, provide state-licensed security and stop alcohol sales and consumption on the premises at 12:30 a.m. every day.
Similar disorderly behavior during the probationary term may result in revocation of the bar’s license outright, authorities said.
The bar’s listed number did not work when called Thursday evening.
