Man in grave condition after East Oakland shooting

OAKLAND — A 29-year-old man was in grave condition Wednesday after he was shot Tuesday night as he drove in East Oakland, police said.

The name of the man, an Oakland resident, was not immediately released.

The man was found shot at 10:04 p.m. Tuesday after his vehicle crashed at the intersection of 54th Avenue and Holland Street,  a block north of International Boulevard in the Melrose area. He was taken to a hospital.

Police were trying to determine exactly where he was shot and what the motive was. No arrests have been made, Sgt. Brad Baker said.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for  information leading to the arrest of the shooter.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
