OAKLAND — A man was shot to death Friday morning at a West Oakland homeless camp, authorities said.
Authorities were trying to identify the man. He was believed to be in his 30s.
The shooting happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. Friday at the camp in the 2500 block of Wood Street. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots before the man was found.
Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police were trying to determine a motive for the shooting. No arrests were reported.
The killing is the 12th homicide in Oakland this year. Last year at this time there were 14 homicides in the city.
