LIVERMORE — Fear of potential flooding at Del Valle Regional Park prompted East Bay Regional Park District officials to close the park down until March 3.

Del Valle Lake’s water levels are high and continue to rise with the rain, according to an East Bay Regional Park District news release. All camping reservations through March 3 will be canceled. The park district asks anyone with reservations before then to call 1-888-327-2757.

The park has a history with flooding. During the 2017 rainy season, the park flooded four times— costing the park district around $1.8 million. Last year, the park received a $5 million state grant to mostly be used for flood control.
