OAKLAND — Four suspects, including two males and two females ranging in age from 16 to 19, were arrested Monday in the iPhone robbery of a woman at the Lake Merritt BART station, authorities said Tuesday.

The victim was not hurt.

The robbery happened about 11:30 a.m. Monday on a platform at the station. Authorities said a 16-year-old boy grabbed the phone out of the woman’s hands and all four suspects ran off.

It was not known if the four suspects had been riding a train.

The woman was able to follow them as they ran out of the station and contacted a station agent, who called police. Two BART police sergeants detained the four not far from the station. The four were arrested after the victim identified them and her phone was returned to her by police, authorities said.

Besides the 16-year-old, whose name was not released, police also arrested a 17-year-old girl whose name was not released and two adults they identified as Jeremiah Tauelia, 18, of San Leandro and Jordyn Haney, 19, of Hayward. The 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of robbery and  taken to Alameda County Juvenile Hall.

The 17-year-old was cited and released to a parent. Tauelia and Haney were booked on suspicion of robbery and being an accessory and were being held Tuesday at Santa Rita Jail in lieu of $120,000 bail each.
