Emeryville police released these images Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018 of Antonio Grajeda, 42, and Vanderrick Vickers, 37.

At 7:07 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to Avenue 64, a Christie Avenue apartment complex, for a report of three people checking her hallway neighbors’ front-door handles. The caller said she saw the three rattle her own doorknob and test her own door.

When officers arrived, they soon stopped three suspects matching the caller’s provided description, as well as a different resident’s opened mail packages that had been left in a utility room after being opened and discarded.

The three suspects, identified only as juveniles, were arrested on suspicion of prowling and theft, police said.

At 3:26 a.m. Sunday, a caller told police about seeing two people who appeared to be casing cars, checking door handles and peering inside with flashlights, in the 5900 block of Vallejo Street.

Officers responded, finding and stopping a pair who matched a provided description about two blocks east at 59th and Marshall streets. After learning the men were on searchable probation for previous burglaries, officers’ searches yielded burglary tools.

The men, identified as 42-year-old Antonio Grajeda and 37-year-old Vanderrick Vickers, were arrested on suspicion of possession of burglary tools and probation violations.

Grajeda and Vickers were taken to Santa Rita Jail, where they were in custody late Sunday on $5,000 bail. Each faces Monday arraignments at East County Hall of Justice in Dublin, according to county records.
