LIVERMORE — A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after calling 911 Saturday night to report he shot his brother, authorities said Sunday.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested the man around 9:55 p.m. Saturday on the 1000 block of Hartman Road in a rural part of Livermore after receiving the call.
The sheriff’s office said the victim was pronounced dead on the scene by medical personnel, and “the injuries to the victim were consistent with a homicide by firearm.”
Detectives and crime lab staff collected evidence at the scene and conducted interviews, sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Ray Kelly said in a statement issued Sunday.
“The suspect has been arrested for murder and a dispute between the two relatives is a likely factor in this case,” Kelly wrote.
Kelly said the sheriff’s office would release the name of the victim and suspect “at a later time pending notification of family.”
