OAKLAND — Fire crews worked to control a fire at an East Oakland home Monday afternoon, according to officials and dispatchers for the Oakland Fire Department.
Tweets from the department around 9 a.m. said the fire was at a home near the corner of Eastman and Penniman avenues, and that the blaze came from the basement. According to the department, firefighters were aggressively trying to “gain [the] upper hand against the blaze.”
