Just months after opening in Oakland’s Temescal district, Bierhaus is already announcing plans for a second East Bay location.
Owner Mike Finley’s beer hall will take over the long-vacant Lark Creek restaurant space on Locust Street downtown. After a 22-year run, Lark Creek closed in the summer of 2017.
This second Bierhaus will have room for what Finley couldn’t squeeze into the Oakland space: a beer garden.
The focus here will be on German and German-style beers — with both contemporary and traditional German food. Currywurst and flatbreads share menu space with jagerschnitzel and smoked pork chops.
