ALAMEDA — In 2013, Carissa Hatchel was attracted by the Island’s charm so much that she and her boyfriend — now her husband — decided to make it their home.

‘One of my favorite spots in Alameda is Rock Wall Winery,” Hatchel said. “It was one of the first places I visited after moving here. I love the stunning view of San Francisco and the relaxing environment Rock Wall has. I love Alameda as my hometown because it is very walkable, with lots to do and lots of friendly people.”

Hatchel is currently working as the costume designer for Breach Once More theatre company in its production of David Lindsay-Abaire’s somber drama, “Rabbit Hole.” The original “Rabbit Hole” production was the recipient of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. “Rabbit Hole” is the first production of Breach Once More’s  2018-2019 season.

It’s a play about grief, loss and emotional turmoil. “Rabbit Hole” is a drama that charts a grieving family through a search for comfort in the darkest of places and a path that will lead them back into the light of day.

“The actors are inspiring,” Hatchel said. “The show is very intimate with a small cast, so you really get to see the intricacies of everyone’s performance.”

“Rabbit Hole” directed by Michael Barr, runs from March 2-24 at Fort Mason in San Francisco. Performances are at 8 p.m.Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. For tickets and information, go to: www.breachoncemore.org.
