ALAMEDA —  Motorists should expect delays when the bridges that link Alameda and Oakland are closed over various days in April so that inspections can be carried out.

The Alameda County Public Works Agency announced Wednesday the temporary closures of the Miller-Sweeney Bridge — popularly known as the Fruitvale Bridge — and the High and Park street bridges.

Lane closures on the Miller-Sweeney Bridge will take place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 2. At least one lane will remain open.

Lanes also will be closed on the bridge the next day 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and all lanes will be closed that night from 9 p.m. through 1 a.m. April 4.

All lanes of the High Street Bridge will be closed 10 a.m.-2 p.m. each day between April 4 and April 6.

Lane closures also will take place on the Park Street Bridge 10 a.m.-2 p.m. each day between April 9 and April 12. Motorists should note that all lanes on the bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. April 11 through 1 a.m. the next morning.
