BERKELEY — Three men were arrested Tuesday as suspects  in a home invasion robbery that targeted two UC Berkeley students, police said Wednesday.

The robbery happened about 12:32 p.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of Regent Street.

Police said a man and woman who are students at the university were walking into an apartment building when they were approached by two men who had been loitering nearby  with another group.

One  of the men pulled a gun and demanded the victims’ property.

After taking various items from the victims the suspects fled on foot southbound on Regent, police said.

Officers converged on the area and within minutes stopped three  men who matched descriptions provided by the victims, police said.  One of the men had a loaded semi-automatic pistol and with an extended magazine. That man also had some of the loss taken from one of  the victims, police said.

Police identified the suspects as  Enkhbilig Tingis, 20, of Berkeley, Purev Narmandakh, 21, of San Francisco, and Purevochir Munkhtur, 21, of Martinez. They were booked at the Berkeley City Jail on suspicion of home invasion robbery, conspiracy, possession  of stolen property and several firearm counts.

Police have not said if they are looking at the suspects for similar crimes.
