Trump’s feet mustbe held to the fire
It was unfortunately that, in today’s paper, you chose to lead with the headline, “Trump’s remarks get a do-over” (Page A1, July 18).
The president’s questionable (and some say treasonous) remarks only get a do-over if we allow it. It is time for the press, his party and the rest of America to stop giving him chances to walk back his lies, misstatements and prevarications. He will continue to do this, over and over, until his feet are held to the fire.
The time to put a stop to this is now, and we, including the media, must not waiver.
