Yes, Stephen Curry missed the cut in last week’s Ellie Mae Classic in Hayward. But he left the Web.com Tour a far sight better than he found it.
After rounds of 71 and 86 playing on a sponsor’s exemption, Curry announced he was making a $25,000 donation to the cancer-stricken wife of a Web.com Tour golfer, Yahoo Sports reported.
Scott Harrington competes on the Web.com Tour, the PGA Tour’s development circuit, but he has applied for a special medical/family crisis extension to be with his wife Jenn. According to Jenn Harrington’s GoFundMe page, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma a year ago. She was declared cancer free in December, but the disease returned in May.
Curry’s donation was surprising and welcome news for the Harringtons.
This group of people have taken a situation that felt nearly impossible and helped to make it a little easier on us. We are so thankful @scottyglf and I will one day pay forward this incredible generosity https://t.co/4LQB8atRMR

From the GoFundMe page: “Jenn (will) have to endure an intense chemotherapy program for two to three months, eventually undergoing a bone marrow transplant to hopefully rid herself of the cancer for good.”
The Harringtons set a goal of $150,000. As of Monday morning they had received $105,155 in donations. Wrote one donor: “Steph Curry motivated me — (this is) my 2nd donation. You have many prayers coming your way and will win this battle!”
Commented another donor: “Inspired by Steph to donate. It is not much, but it is from my heart. Get well soon!”
Thank you all so much, we truly appreciate it. August 2019, a healthy and cancer-free @jharrington81 and I will look forward to thanking you in person at @TPCStonebrae !! https://t.co/XZejsUDTwf… https://t.co/uDfsf80IAy

Curry isn’t new to this kind of good deed. Last week he also raised more than $20,000 for the family of sisters who in July were confronted by a knife-wielding attacker on a BART platform. Nia Wilson, 18, was killed and her sister was wounded.
