BERKELEY — A man injured Sunday when he was hit by a BART train at the North Berkeley station had deliberately jumped in front of the train, officials said Monday.
The name of the 65-year-old man or his place of residence have not been released.
He suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital where he was placed on a psychiatric hold, BART officials said. He was still hospitalized Monday and his condition was not available.

Berkeley firefighters were able to remove the man from underneath the train. The station was closed until shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday after the rescue and police investigation.
