OAKLAND — Two men were shot Friday night in different areas of East Oakland, and three suspects were arrested in one of the shootings, authorities said Saturday.
Both victims are expected to recover.
The shooting where the arrests were made happened about 8:18 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of 85th Avenue.
Police said a 24-year-old man was shot and three other men were taken into custody shortly after the shooting. The wounded man was taken to a hospital where he was in stable condition.
Police were interviewing the suspects Saturday and did not release a motive. It was not immediately known if the victim and suspects knew each other.
In an unrelated shooting, a 36-year-old man was shot about 11:55 p.m. Friday as he walked in the 1900 block of Fruitvale Avenue in the Fruitvale district.
The man told police he heard some popping noises and realized he had been shot. He was able to drive himself to his home several blocks away where police were called, and he was taken to a hospital. No motive has been determined, and police are not sure if the man was an intended target. No arrests have been made.
