No. 6 Wilcox 34, Cupertino 0
Wilcox completed its first undefeated regular season since going 9-0-1 in 1991 as the Chargers scored all 34 of their points before halftime and then played only backups in the second half with a running clock.
“Our ones on offense played only 11 plays or something like that,” said Wilcox coach Paul Rosa, whose team won the outright Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division championship. “We scored quickly a few times. But we’re healthy. We’re as ready as we could be.”
With Bellarmine losing to St. Ignatius on Saturday, Wilcox (10-0, 6-0) is expected to be the top seed in the Central Coast Section Open Division I playoffs, which is projected to include Palo Alto, Menlo-Atherton, Salinas, San Benito, Los Gatos, Milpitas and Piedmont Hills.

The 35th season for Bellarmine coach Mike Janda was a rough one as the storied program was held scoreless Saturday for the sixth time this fall.

The Wildcats (3-7, 3-4) led 21-0 at halftime and 34-0 through three quarters.
This marks just the sixth time under Janda, the CCS’s all-time winningest coach with 283 wins, that the Bells have failed to reach the playoffs and the first time since 2004.
