Education should includelearning respectful dress
Re: “Alameda: Trial dress code gets positive feedback” (Page B1, Dec. 29):
What a shame that any school district feels it’s OK for kids to come to school in shorts of any length, hoodies, hats, even pajamas. Nothing like lowering your standards to reduce complaints from students!
Shouldn’t education include learning what is respectful, responsible behavior and dress, and setting an appropriate environment for learning?
If you lower the standards, you’re only going to get substandard results. It’s like teaching to the lowest common denominator.
