OAKLAND — A 25-year-old Oakland man injured in a weekend East Oakland drive-by shooting has become the city’s sixth homicide victim of the year, authorities said.
Police responded to reports of a shooting around 11:15 p.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of Embarcadero near Union Point Park.
Officers learned the man, identified as Ramiro Bautista-Perez, was sitting in his vehicle in a parking lot when someone in a passing vehicle shot at him.
Bautista-Perez was taken to an area hospital, where he died Tuesday.
Police said they have no motive for the shooting, and no arrest has been made.
As of this date last year, Oakland had logged four homicides.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of his killer.
