OAKLAND — BART reopened its West Oakland station Thursday night after about a half-hour’s closure due to a shooting nearby, authorities said.
Shortly after 10:50 p.m., BART issued a statement that the station was closed and trains would be running through the station without stopping.
At 11:05 p.m., BART spokesman Jim Allison said the reported shooting led BART police to close the station at 10:45 p.m. The station reopened just before 11:20 p.m., according to a follow-up statement.
No information was immediately available on whether the shooting’s exact location was on BART property or the condition of any victim.
